How many times have you seen a television show and though "oh, that is so gay"...without giving the least bit of thought to the statement? How about when you're out in public places and see people who you think might be 'gay', simply because of their actions, fashion or physical appearances? You'll forgive me for asking this so early on in my commentary, but... WHY?!
I've seen and heard all the bullshit hype before. Things like, "If a man hugs another man for more than 0.0005 seconds, he's gay"...."If two people of the same gender liver together for any length of time, they're obviously gay".... "If a man of any age chooses to wear anything pink, he's gay"... "If two women are seen arm in arm, they must be lesbians". Oh give it up already people! I could no more point out a member of the LGBT community on the streets than you can. Heck, most people in the LGBT communities have difficulty some times figuring out who is and who is not gay/bi/lesbian. What, there's some kind of genetic built-in radar device that goes off when a heterosexual is within range of a homosexual? O_o
Now, I'm not saying that I do not fully understand the um.. 'issues'...that most heterosexual people have with homosexuality. I'm simply stating that I personally believe that those 'issues' are falsely grounded, have absolutely no merit what so ever and are nothing more than 'ideas based on a large fear-fueled media driven panic pandemic'.What I truly detest is when I see someone make a gay-based comment (such as "omg u look so gay"), and then they try to cover up their homo-phobic statement with something like "Oh, no I'm not anti-gay. In fact, I have friends that are gay. I'm just not gay. I'm straight". Whenever I hear something like that come out of anyone's mouth, the only thing I can think of is "idiot".
I've seen the talk shows. A person in their late teens 'comes out' and on live television tells his/her parents "mom, dad.. I'm gay/lesbian". Then, everyone gets to see said 'mom/dad' break down into fits of sorrow and anger. Finally, the teenager's partner is brought out...and more unfounded emotion ensues, until everyone sits down to talk about it, and everything is suddenly 'OK' again. By the way, this all takes place in approximately 45 minutes (give or take, depending on how many commercial breaks there are during the show). Are you kidding me?!? All that in 45 minutes?!? WOW, if life was that easy huh?
Now we have this stupid "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" 'thing' on the table for military personnel that are also members of the LGBT communities around the United States. Let me see if I understand this properly:
There are both men and women who are willing to go through the rigorous training it takes to be placed on a battle field. Men and women who are willing to die for their nation. Men and women who are willing to go above and beyond what many people in the U. S. would not even so much as think of going through...and it matters it they're gay or not? WHAT?!
Honestly, I think there is a LOT more on the minds of the men and women serving in the armed forces, putting their lives on the line on a daily basis. The last thing on their minds is trying to pick out who is and who is not a member of the LGBT community in their units. Ya think?? You show me a line up of 10 soldiers, and have 2 of them be members of the LGBT community, and I will guarantee you that you would not have an easy time figuring out who are the gay men in that line up. In fact, most people that the general public dub as 'gay', aren't even gay at all. Go figure that one out.
Truth of the matter is, that unless you see a gay pride parade taking place, or know someone who is 'obviously' a member of the LGBT community, it's nearly impossible to know who is and who is not a member of the LGBT community. Oh, and all the silly gods above and below help us all if someone everyone thought was 'straight' decides to 'come out of the closet' and announce their homosexuality. All hell's gonna break loose then, huh?

Gay marriage bans. Now that's a good one for our future generations to get a horribly good laugh out of. Why would anyone think it's ok to ban a marriage? People with a 1950's mind set said so? Or, perhaps, it's because people of the same gender who fall in love with each other 'just isn't natural'? Seriously?! It's NOT good to love someone? HUH?!
See, I can sit here and write this all with absolutely no 'ooky' feeling inside. In fact, I'd even go a bit further and with more graphic detail if I didn't think it would spark an influx of stupidity into my mail box and in my article's comments section (I have a sub-zero tolerance for what I call 'blatant retardation' - which is my phrase for people who are voluntarily stupid). I am a member of the heterosexual community, and I simply have absolutely no patience what so ever for people who are uneducated fear-living fools.
Let me through an abbreviation out here to scare the pants off of y'all: AIDS! Now then, after you people get your acts together and recompose yourselves, you might want to take a bit of a look into this wretched ailment a bit further, before pinning it on the LGBT community. Ok? Seriously. Go here and do some reading. When you're done, come back and tell me what you learned. If you're still one of those anti-gay nutcases out there, just close yourself into the nearest padded room and be done with your lively lives all together. There's no hope for you at this point.
