Ever since the introduction of the World Wide Web, our world has been shrinking, one day at a time. For me, it is a more than welcome change. It has given me the chance to learn about much more about all the different nationalities of our globe. And wow, have I learned many new things!!
The most important lesson I've learned is to never judge the people of one nation, based on nothing but their government, nor the media attention that country receives. I have learned that no matter a person's age, religion, ethnicity or nationality...we're all basically the same people inside and out. The "look and feel" of a person is simply different, which, in my opinion, makes this world so incredibly interesting and enormously rich in knowledge and information. The meaning of life is to live it, correct? Well... get out there and start living your life!!
Turn on your system and take a trip to Italy. Perhaps you're in your pajamas and want to see the sights of Moscow at night...it's just a click away. What is even more interesting and intriguing, is having the opportunity to actually talk to people that are living in various nations around the globe. Hey, there are 194 countries around the globe today. That means the possibilities of knowledge are almost completely endless. How fascinating is that?!?
You can log on and in a few clicks, learn how to speak almost any written language in the world. There are 6,500 'living' languages around the globe today. Only a small percentage of them are 'written' languages, but still, that's alot of information right there! Just imagine all the incredible sights there are to visit!! WOW!Then, add into this sight and speech mixture, the most international language of all, music. Then add all of the types of dress people wear around the globe. Now throw in the entirety of remaining structures that give us a first hand view into the previous civilizations that were here before our modern ones. You don't have to really look too far to find the historical remnants of humanity all around you. Kind of mind boggling huh?
Oh! We can also add in all the millions of different animal species around the world. Then the land formations and of course, we can't forget 'Mother Earth' at her very best...the very unique position the entire planet holds within this particular solar system. All of this knowledge and information (or, at lest a tremendous portion of it) has been brought before us via the Internet.
On the Internet, we have the ability to learn new languages from the very people that speak them on a daily basis. Throw in a pair of speakers, or put on a head set, and you can even learn how to properly pronounce words. Talk to someone from Russia, and a whole new world will open to you, right before your very eyes. Cross the globe, and talk to someone from France, and yet an entirely new realm is opened. Go south to Africa and a national feast is placed in front of you to absorb and relish in. Go west to the Americas and an even more complex world of wonderful surprises opens up like a huge box of exploding knowledge.

Think about this. Somewhere in the world, it is tomorrow. Somewhere in the world, it is also yesterday and somewhere in the world, it is today. All at the same time!
No matter where you live on this beautiful blue and green planet we call Earth, we all share common threads. We all handle weight issues. We all handle political upheavals. We all handle bias of one form or another, for one reason or another. We're too tall, too small, too large, too tiny, too conservative, too liberal, too understanding, too misunderstanding, too judging and too...well, you get the idea. We're really not all that different at all. We are, in fact, under the 'general order of international unification', in one sense or another.
Yes, as common as we are, at the same time, we are each unique individuals that make us the only ones of our kind on the entire planet. Our planet currently holds over 6 billion people. That's a lot of people. And to think, you are the ONLY person, just like you...ever. How cool is that?! That means that you are a very special person. You are unique and have knowledge only you can ever know. Why? Because the only person that truly knows everything about you, is you. That's it. No one else. Why? Because there is indeed only one you on the entire planet.
People share similar habits, hobbies and interests. They share belief systems, musical and entertainment taste, political associations and other such areas of common binding. However, you are the only 'you'. Enjoy that!

Why not? It's your life! Live it and learn as much as you can so that you have life long experiences that you can pass on to younger generations. Hopefully, that information will encourage them to also take the time to learn all about as many aspects of humanity as they possibly can.
I don't know about you, but I want my children to learn about as many global things that they can. I want them to learn that each person is unique and yet, at the same time, each person shares common interests around an entire globe that span over 194 different nations. I don't want my children to fall into such stereotypical traps that our media outlets like to push on us over the broadcasting waves of the entertainment outlets we have available to us these days.
I encourage them to grow and develop. I encourage everyone to do the same. So get out there and start learning as much as you can about as much as you can. Why? Because, you'll thank yourself for doing so, and so will your future generations! :)
Have you thought asbout learning Esperanto, a language with speakers in 120+ countries? Esperanto has certainly opened my eyers to the wider world.
